What is Brazilian Jiujitsu?
Brazilian Jiujitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. It was developed in Brazil in the early 20th century by the Gracie family and it is known for its effectiveness in real-world self-defense situations. The goal of Brazilian Jiujitsu is to control and subdue an opponent using a variety of grappling techniques, such as joint locks and chokes. These techniques allow a smaller person to defend themselves against a larger/stronger attacker. Brazilian Jiujitsu is often taught alongside other martial arts, such as Judo and Muay Thai, and it is a popular sport around the world.
